Fabuwood Cabinets: Door Styles, Colors and Series Guide
Fabuwood Cabinetry is a New Jersey manufacturer, based in Newark. We stock 74 Fabuwood designs across 10 door styles. This guide lists every one of them, explains how the Allure, Illume and Ovela series differ in construction, and shows which of our designs are still in Fabuwood's current lineup after we checked all 74 against the manufacturer door style pages on October 29, 2026.
Three numbers decide most Fabuwood projects: the series sets the cabinet box and drawer construction, the door style sets the look and the overlay, and the finish sets the color. Fabuwood currently publishes 12 door styles plus one specialty aluminum glass door, and 87 finishes. We carry the subset that North Jersey kitchens ask for most.
Fabuwood is one of several cabinet lines we carry in Wayne. If you are cross-shopping, our CNC Cabinetry guide covers CNC door styles, collections, finish codes and warranty terms in the same format, which makes the two easier to compare side by side.
What we stock, door style by door style
The left side of this table is Fabuwood's current catalogue. The right side is what sits in our Fabuwood collection at the Wayne showroom.

| Metro | Quest | Traditional shaker with detailed inner edges and partial overlay | 3 | 3 |
| Discovery | Quest | Classic shaker with subtle inner edges and partial overlay | 1 | 1 |
Two gaps are worth naming. We do not currently stock Luxe, Echo or the new Siena door, and our Tuscany range is the deepest on the floor at 22 designs. Anything Fabuwood lists can be ordered through us even when it is not on the showroom floor, so bring the door style and finish name to a free estimate appointment and we will price it on your layout.
Allure, Illume and Ovela: the construction decision
Series is the first fork in a Fabuwood order, and it is not a style choice. It changes the cabinet box, the drawer, the interior and how the cabinet sits on the floor.
| Allure | Illume | Ovela | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Construction | Framed | Frameless | Frameless |
| Box material | Plywood | Furniture board | Plywood |
| Interior | Veneered natural wood | White linen | Veneered natural wood |
| Drawer box | Solid wood dovetail | Metal BLUM Merivo box | Solid wood dovetail |
| Base | Built-in recessed toe kick | Adjustable legs | Built-in recessed toe kick |
| Hardware | Blumotion soft-close slides | Blumotion soft-close slides | Blumotion soft-close slides |
| Door styles in this series | Galaxy, Luna, Fusion, Echo, Nexus, Luxe | Siena, Catalina, Tuscany, aluminum glass door | Siena, Catalina, Tuscany, aluminum glass door |
Framed construction, which is what Allure uses, puts a solid wood face frame on the front of the box. That is the traditional American cabinet and it is what most Wayne kitchens still get. Frameless construction attaches doors and drawers straight to the box, which widens the opening and gives you more usable storage in the same cabinet width.
The material row is the one people skip. Allure and Ovela boxes are plywood. Illume boxes are furniture board with a white linen interior and a metal BLUM Merivo drawer box. If plywood construction matters to you, that rules Illume out before you ever look at a door. Our fabrication shop sees both every week and the difference shows up in weight more than in daily use.
All three series run Blumotion soft-close slides. Fabuwood groups these details under a program it calls Q12, which covers twelve build standards including the Blum Compact Clip hinge, metal shelf clips and dovetail construction on the framed and Ovela lines.
Fabuwood door styles, and what each one actually looks like
Fabuwood splits its doors by profile rather than by price tier, so a shaker door can appear in a framed or a frameless series. These are Fabuwood's own profile descriptions, grouped the way a designer would walk you through them.
Shaker doors
Galaxy is the classic shaker with subtle inner edges and the widest finish range Fabuwood offers at 32 colors. Luna is the slim shaker, with a narrower rail that reads more contemporary. Fusion is a transitional shaker with detailed edges, and Nexus is a wider transitional shaker with detailed inner edges. Echo is the micro-shaker with beveled inner edges. All five sit in the Allure framed series.
Slab doors
Luxe is the flat panel slab in the Allure series. Catalina is the frameless flat panel slab with an applied gloss, matte or textured surface, and it carries 50 finishes, more than any other Fabuwood door. Siena is the newest door, a 3-piece slab with an applied matte or textured surface.
Wide shaker with applied surfaces
Tuscany is a wide shaker that uses the same applied melamine surfaces as Catalina, which is why it reads as a woodgrain or textile rather than a paint. It is the Fabuwood door we stock most deeply.
Partial overlay and raised panel
Metro and Discovery are the two Quest series doors, both partial overlay, which means the cabinet frame stays visible around the door. Hallmark is the Value Premium raised panel shaker. These three are built for budget-sensitive projects and each is offered in a single finish, so if you see Metro in Java, Frost or Mist, that is the full range.
All 87 Fabuwood finishes
Fabuwood sorts finishes by how the color is applied, and the application method tells you more about durability and cleaning than the color name does.
| Finish type | Count | What it is | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paint | 20 | Pigmented paint on wood and engineered components | Frost, Dove, Linen, Nickel, Pitch Black, Indigo |
| Stain | 17 | Transparent stain that leaves the wood grain visible | Timber, Mocha, Desert Oak, Kona, Horizon, Cobblestone |
| Matte melamine | 12 | Low-sheen applied surface on frameless doors | Bianco Matte, Blanco, Carbone Matte, Antracita, Basalto |
| Gloss melamine | 15 | High-sheen applied surface on frameless doors | Bianco Gloss, Grigio Gloss, Black Gloss, Cashmere Gloss |
| Textured melamine | 23 | Applied surface with a woodgrain or fabric texture | Nocce 3, Como Ash 1, Muratti 1, Woodline 3, Silk Flow |
Six finishes are new to the lineup: Biscuit, Natural Oak, Claystone, Dark Aqua, Seaside Pine and Elderberry, all of them stains. Fabuwood also runs a custom color program, so a dealer can have doors painted in any Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore color.
Finishes by color family
Fabuwood tags every finish with a color family, a tone and a color temperature. Across all 87 finishes the split is 34 light, 27 medium and 26 dark, and 43 warm, 23 cool and 21 neutral. If your kitchen faces north, the warm count is the one to work from.

Onyx, which Fabuwood has retired
We still carry nine Onyx designs. Onyx no longer appears on Fabuwood's door style index, and the manufacturer's Onyx page now redirects to the door style listing, so treat these as a closing range rather than a current line. If you want an Onyx kitchen, ask us about availability before you plan around it. The closest current replacements are Luxe, which is the Allure flat panel slab, and Nexus.
| Door style | Designs we stock | Finishes on our floor and in our catalogue |
|---|---|---|
| Onyx | 9 | Cobblestone, Horizon, Frost, Dove, Indigo, Nickel, Linen, Stone, Oyster |
Finishes Fabuwood has discontinued
Fabuwood publishes a dated discontinued list, which matters if you are matching an existing kitchen rather than building a new one. If your current cabinets are in one of these, an exact match is no longer available and the usual answer is a deliberate two-tone layout instead.
| Series / door style / finish | Discontinued |
|---|---|
| Allure / Imperio / Nickel | March 2025 |
| Allure / Imperio / Dove | March 2025 |
| Illume / Venetian / Muratti 4 | July 2024 |
| Illume / Venetian / Muratti 1 | July 2024 |
| Illume / Venetian / Como Ash 2 | July 2024 |
| Illume / Venetian / Nocce 3 | July 2024 |
| Allure / Galaxy / Espresso | March 2024 |
| Allure / Fusion / Blanc | March 2024 |
| Allure / Nexus / Slate | September 2022 |
| Prima / Prima / Bianco | May 2021 |
| Classic / Wellington / Ivory | January 2021 |
| Value / Landmark / Brandy and Natural | January 2020 |
| Value / Hallmark / Pecan, Brandy and Chestnut | January 2020 |
| Allure / Galaxy / Pecan | January 2020 |
| Allure / Fusion / Chestnut | January 2020 |
| Allure / Vista / Blanc | January 2020 |
Two door styles on that list, Imperio and Venetian, are gone entirely. Wellington, Landmark, Elite, Vista, Shaker, Prima and Geneva belong to older Fabuwood series that are no longer produced.
What the Fabuwood warranty covers
Fabuwood runs a Limited Lifetime Warranty, but the start date depends on the series and the purchase date, and older purchases fall under a 5-year term instead.
| Series | Purchase date | Warranty that applies |
|---|---|---|
| Allure, Illume, Value Premium, Quest, Valencia | On or after October 1, 2024 | Limited Lifetime Warranty |
| Value Premium, Quest | Before October 1, 2024 | Limited 5-Year Warranty |
| Allure, Illume | Before January 26, 2023 | Limited 5-Year Warranty |
The warranty goes to the first residential purchaser and is not transferable to the next owner of the home. It excludes commercial, rental and multi-unit common-area installations unless Fabuwood approves them in writing, and it excludes rooms without year-round climate control or with prolonged direct sunlight. A three-season porch or an unconditioned basement kitchenette is outside the terms.
How to compare Fabuwood quotes
Cabinet quotes are hard to compare because every dealer counts different boxes. The industry reference is the 10x10 kitchen, a standard footprint with roughly 10 linear feet of cabinetry on two walls, covering base cabinets, wall cabinets, a sink base and a corner unit. Our 10 x 10 Kitchen Value Package is priced on that footprint so one line compares against another dealer quote directly.
Four things move a Fabuwood price more than the door style does:
- Series. Framed Allure, frameless Illume and frameless Ovela are priced differently because the box construction differs.
- Finish type. Painted and applied melamine finishes do not cost the same as stains.
- Modifications. Reduced-depth cabinets, custom fillers, glass doors and panel work are priced per change.
- Accessories. Roll-outs, trash pullouts, spice racks and organizers are separate line items in every cabinet quote.
Few kitchens match the 10x10 footprint exactly, so a real order adds and removes cabinets against your measurements. We run a free 3D design before quoting so the cabinet list matches the room rather than a template. You can also test layouts yourself in the kitchen visualizer, and financing is available on cabinet and countertop projects.
Pairing Fabuwood cabinets with a countertop
We fabricate countertops in the same building, so the cabinet and the stone get specified together rather than in two separate trips. Three pairings come up repeatedly in Wayne:
- White and off-white doors such as Frost, Dove and Linen against a veined white quartz. Our light countertop range and the quartz countertop colors guide cover the options.
- Stained doors such as Timber, Mocha, Kona and Desert Oak against a warm granite or a cream quartz. See medium countertops and how to match colors to granite.
- Dark and black doors such as Pitch Black, Indigo and Antracita with a contrasting light surface. Our dark countertop range and the black quartz guide show both directions.
Brand by brand, the countertop lines we fabricate are Cambria, MSI, Caesarstone, Silestone and Pental Quartz, plus granite. The edge profile guide and the material selection guide are the two reads that settle most of the remaining questions, and backsplash selection usually comes last.
Other cabinet lines we carry
Fabuwood is one of eight cabinet lines on our floor. If a Fabuwood door style or finish is not the right fit, the usual alternatives in the showroom are Omega Cabinetry, CNC Cabinetry, Forevermark Cabinetry, Kitchen Craft Cabinetry, Europly Cabinetry, J&K Cabinetry and Golden Home Cabinetry. The full range sits in kitchen cabinets, and you can also browse by look: modern, contemporary, transitional, traditional and inset.
Frequently asked questions about Fabuwood cabinets
Are Fabuwood cabinets high end?
Fabuwood sits in the semi-custom tier, between stock cabinets and full custom. You choose from a published range of door styles, finishes and sizes, with modifications available, rather than ordering a cabinet drawn from scratch. The Allure and Ovela series use plywood boxes, solid wood dovetail drawers and Blumotion soft-close hardware, which is the specification band most semi-custom lines compete in.
Are Fabuwood cabinets good quality?
Fabuwood builds to its own Q12 program, which covers twelve construction standards including Blum Compact Clip hinges, metal shelf clips, full-extension soft-close runners and dovetail drawer construction on the framed and Ovela lines. Current purchases carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The practical quality question is series rather than brand: Allure and Ovela give you plywood boxes and wood dovetail drawers, while Illume uses furniture board with a metal BLUM Merivo drawer box.
Are Fabuwood cabinets real wood?
It depends on the series. Allure and Ovela boxes are plywood with veneered natural wood interiors and solid wood dovetail drawers. Illume boxes are furniture board with a white linen interior. Door fronts also vary: painted and stained doors are wood and wood components, while the melamine finishes on Catalina, Tuscany and Siena are an applied surface over an engineered substrate.
How many colors do Fabuwood cabinets come in?
Fabuwood publishes 87 finishes: 20 paints, 17 stains, 23 textured melamines, 15 gloss melamines and 12 matte melamines. Not every finish is offered on every door. Galaxy carries 32, Catalina carries 50, Tuscany 28 and the Quest and Value Premium doors carry one or three each.
Does Fabuwood do custom colors?
Yes. Fabuwood runs a custom color program that lets a dealer order doors painted in any Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore color. That sits outside the 87 standard finishes and is priced and scheduled separately, so bring the paint code to the appointment.
Is Fabuwood better than KraftMaid?
They are different manufacturers in the same semi-custom tier, so the comparison only means something on your own kitchen. Compare them on the four things that change a quote: box material and drawer construction in the specific series you are being quoted, the overlay, the number of finishes available on the door you want, and what the warranty covers for your purchase date. We stock Fabuwood and can price it against any competing quote on the same 10x10 footprint.
What is the Fabuwood warranty?
Fabuwood offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty on Allure, Illume, Value Premium, Quest and Valencia cabinets purchased on or after October 1, 2024. Value Premium and Quest cabinets bought before that date, and Allure and Illume cabinets bought before January 26, 2023, fall under a Limited 5-Year Warranty instead. The coverage goes to the first residential purchaser, does not transfer with the house, and excludes commercial and rental installations unless Fabuwood approves them in writing.
