Caesarstone Countertops: Colors, Materials and Cost Guide
Caesarstone is no longer a quartz-only brand, which changes how you shop it. The range now splits into four material families: quartz, porcelain, mineral, and the crystalline-silica-free ICON line. Each family has its own slab size, its own thickness, and its own fabrication rules.
We stock 89 Caesarstone designs at our Wayne, NJ showroom: 42 quartz, 29 porcelain, 2 mineral, and 16 designs that Caesarstone has since retired from its US catalog. Every design, code, thickness, slab size and finish on this page was checked against the Caesarstone US product pages on October 8, 2026.
A 1.2 cm porcelain slab and a 3 cm quartz slab are not interchangeable. They look similar in a sample box and behave very differently on a kitchen island.
If you are comparing Caesarstone with MSI, our MSI quartz countertops guide covers all 121 MSI colors with their slab sizes, thickness options and published crystalline silica figures.
The four Caesarstone material families
Caesarstone has made surfaces since 1987. The brand built its name on engineered quartz, then added porcelain, mineral and ICON surfaces. The table below shows how the three families we stock differ on the numbers that drive a countertop quote.
| Material family | Thickness | Jumbo slab size | Approx. slab area | Designs we stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quartz | 2 cm and 3 cm | 128 x 64.5 in | 57.3 sq ft | 42 |
| Porcelain | 1.2 cm, six designs also 0.6 cm | 124.5 x 61.5 in | 53.2 sq ft | 29 |
| Mineral | 2 cm and 3 cm | 128 x 64.5 in | 57.3 sq ft | 2 |
| Retired designs | Varies | Varies | Varies | 16 |
Seven of the quartz designs we carry also come in a standard 120 x 56.5 in slab, which works out to roughly 47.1 sq ft. One design, 6313 Turbine Grey, uses an ICON jumbo at 131.5 x 64.5 in, about 58.9 sq ft.
Why slab size matters more than color on an island
Slab size decides where your seams land. A 128 x 64.5 in quartz jumbo covers a 10 ft run plus a modest island without a seam. A 124.5 x 61.5 in porcelain jumbo is 3.5 in shorter and 3 in narrower, which is enough to force a seam on a long peninsula that the quartz version would have cleared.
The standard 120 x 56.5 in slab is the tight one. At 56.5 in wide, a 25.5 in countertop run plus a 30 in island top no longer nests cleanly, so the yield per slab drops and the piece count rises. That is a cost difference as much as a layout difference, and it shows up before anyone talks about price per square foot.
We template with a laser in our fabrication shop and cut on CNC, so seam placement is planned against the actual slab you pick rather than a generic layout. To see the plan before you commit, our free 3D design service puts it on screen.
Caesarstone quartz: the 42 designs we stock
Quartz is the family most people mean when they say Caesarstone. All 42 designs below come in both 2 cm and 3 cm. Thin 2 cm tops usually get a laminated edge to look thicker, which is covered in our countertop edge profile guide.

Caesarstone porcelain: the 29 designs we stock
Porcelain is a different product wearing the same brand name. It is fired at high temperature, it is harder than quartz, it handles direct heat and UV far better, and it comes thin: 1.2 cm as standard, with six designs also offered at 0.6 cm.
That thinness is the catch. A 1.2 cm porcelain top needs a built-up or mitered edge to look like a countertop rather than a tile, and it needs different tooling and different handling on site. Porcelain is also the family where Caesarstone puts its most textured finishes, including Ultra Rough and Stone.

Caesarstone mineral: 2 designs
Mineral surfaces sit between quartz and porcelain. Both designs we stock use the same 2 cm and 3 cm thickness and the same 128 x 64.5 in jumbo slab as the quartz range, so they fabricate like quartz while carrying a different material classification on the Caesarstone spec sheet.
| Design | Thickness | Slab size | Finish |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4011 Cloudburst Concrete | 2 cm and 3 cm | Jumbo 128 x 64.5 in | Rough |
| 4033 Rugged Concrete | 2 cm and 3 cm | Jumbo 128 x 64.5 in | Rough |
Caesarstone ICON and the silica question
ICON is the newest material in the Caesarstone portfolio. Caesarstone describes ICON as crystalline-silica free, with a footnote that it may contain traces of crystalline silica up to 1 percent, verified through independently run XRD and HHRA testing. The blend is patent pending and roughly 85 percent recycled content, including post-industrial recycled glass.
Caesarstone lists 59 ICON designs worldwide and states that 12 are currently available in the US market. For now ICON is a parallel line with a short US list, alongside the quartz range.
Conventional engineered quartz, Caesarstone included, is a silica-containing product. The exposure risk sits in cutting and polishing, not in a finished countertop in a finished kitchen. That risk belongs to the fabricator, which is why wet cutting, dust extraction and respiratory protection in the shop matter to you as a buyer even though you never see the shop.
Finishes across the Caesarstone range we carry
Finish changes how a design looks in a room. The same white can look crisp or chalky depending on how it is surfaced. Across the 73 designs we stock that are still in the Caesarstone US catalog, the finish split looks like this.
| Finish | Designs we stock | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Polished | 33 | Reflective, highest contrast on veining, the default for marble-look designs |
| Honed | 12 | Matte and soft, shows fingerprints and water marks more readily on dark tones |
| Ultra Rough | 10 | Heavy texture, porcelain only, strong tactile grain |
| Silk | 7 | Low sheen with a smooth hand, porcelain only |
| Concrete | 5 | Flat industrial texture that looks like poured concrete |
| Rough | 4 | Textured quartz, coarser than honed |
| Stone | 4 | Natural stone texture on porcelain |
| Natural | 1 | Minimal surface treatment |
Discontinued Caesarstone colors
Caesarstone retires designs every year, and a retired design is the one situation where a countertop repair turns into a countertop replacement. If a slab cracks or an appliance cutout has to change and the design is gone, there is no matching material left to buy.
Sixteen designs in our inventory no longer have a live product page in the Caesarstone US catalog as of October 8, 2026. They are still real slabs and still fabricable while stock lasts, but treat them as a closed pool rather than a reorderable line.
| Retired design | Code |
|---|---|
| 2003 Concrete | 2003 |
| 4601 Frozen Terra | 4601 |
| 5000 London Grey | 5000 |
| 5101 Empira Black | 5101 |
| 5111 Statuario Nuvo | 5111 |
| 5113 Solenna | 5113 |
| 5130 Cosmopolitan White | 5130 |
| 5133 Symphony Grey | 5133 |
| 5140 Dreamy Carrara | 5140 |
| 5171 Arabetto | 5171 |
| 5211 Noble Grey | 5211 |
| 5310 Brillianza | 5310 |
| 5820 Darcrest | 5820 |
| 6270 Atlantic Salt | 6270 |
| 7524 Golden Sky | 7524 |
| 9141 Ice Snow | 9141 |
Several of these are high-recognition names. 5140 Dreamy Carrara, 5000 London Grey and 5111 Statuario Nuvo were long-running marble-look staples and people still search for them by name. If one of them is what you want, ask how much of it is left, because it cannot be reordered.
The practical rule with any retired design: buy the full job in one go, including the backsplash and any future vanity, and ask for the offcuts to be kept.
What drives Caesarstone countertop cost
Caesarstone does not publish a single price per square foot, and a design name alone is not enough to quote one. Six variables set the number on your estimate.
- Material family and design tier. Caesarstone groups designs into price levels. A plain solid and a heavily veined Calacatta sit in different tiers even at identical slab size.
- Thickness. A 3 cm slab carries more material than a 2 cm slab. On porcelain, 1.2 cm costs less in material and more in edge labor.
- Slab yield. Your layout against the slab size decides how many slabs the job consumes. A kitchen that needs 48 sq ft can take one slab or two depending on piece shapes.
- Edge profile. An eased edge is machine time. A mitered or laminated edge adds a second strip of material plus hand work.
- Cutouts and specials. Undermount sink reveals, cooktops, faucet holes, outlet notches in a waterfall and any curve add shop time.
- Site conditions. Stairs, long carries, cabinet leveling and removal of an existing top all add to the install line.
That is why a quote starts with a measure rather than a phone estimate. Our installation process explains what each stage covers, and financing is available if the project needs to be spread out.
How Caesarstone compares to the other brands on our floor
We carry several surface brands, so we can compare them on the same floor. These are the surface brands currently in our catalog and the number of designs we carry in each.
| Brand | Designs we stock | What it is known for |
|---|---|---|
| Cambria | 165 | American-made natural quartz, priced by Design Series, transferable lifetime warranty |
| MSI Surfaces | 121 | Large marble-look quartz catalog at accessible price points |
| Caesarstone | 89 | Four material families in one brand: quartz, porcelain, mineral and ICON |
| Silestone | 83 | Wide color range with a strong presence in low-silica and recycled content lines |
| Pental Quartz | 75 | Quartz program focused on neutral and marble-look designs |
If you are weighing Caesarstone against Cambria specifically, our Cambria quartz guide breaks down how Cambria prices by Design Series, which is a different pricing logic from the one Caesarstone uses. For the quartz versus natural stone decision, see quartz versus granite.
Choosing a Caesarstone design for your kitchen
Four groups cover most of what people pick.
Marble look, white base
The Calacatta and Statuario family is the largest group in the range: 5131 Calacatta Nuvo, 5115 Calacatta Stillstorm, 5116 Calacatta Nectar, 5118 Calacatta Scoria, 5031 Statuario Maximus and 5151 Empira White. Veining scale matters more than the shade of white. Our marble-look quartz guide covers how vein width behaves at island scale, and Calacatta versus Carrara explains the two pattern families behind these names.
Clean solid white
1141 Pure White and 1111 Vivid White are the two true solids, and 4600 Organic White is the softer, warmer alternative. Solid whites look best with a thicker edge. See white quartz countertops and the light countertop collection.
Concrete and industrial
Concrete looks are a large group in the Caesarstone range. 4011 Cloudburst Concrete, 4001 Fresh Concrete, 4003 Sleek Concrete, 4004 Raw Concrete and 4033 Rugged Concrete cover the range from smooth to heavily textured. The mid-tone collection holds most of this group.
Dark and dramatic
3100 Jet Black, 5100 Vanilla Noir, 5810 Black Tempal and 4120 Raven are the dark end. Honed dark surfaces show marks more than polished ones, which is covered in black quartz countertops and the dark countertop collection.
If you are still choosing between color families rather than brands, our quartz countertop color guide is the broader version of this section.
Living with a Caesarstone countertop
Quartz and mineral surfaces are non-porous, so they never need sealing. Daily cleaning is mild soap and warm water or a pH-neutral cleaner. Caesarstone asks that spills are wiped rather than left to dry, because dried liquid can leave limescale, and that is more visible on dark designs than light ones.
Caesarstone also publishes guidance on patina, the gradual change in sheen that develops on any surface through daily use. It classifies patina as normal aging rather than a defect, which is worth knowing before you compare a five-year-old counter to a showroom sample.
Heat is the real limit on quartz. Resin softens under direct heat, so a trivet is not optional with any quartz brand. Porcelain is the family that tolerates hot pans and direct sun, which is why it is the one to look at for outdoor kitchens and sun-flooded rooms.
Warranty terms are published separately for each family: quartz, mineral and fusion surfaces under one document, outdoor quartz under another, and porcelain under a third, each with residential and commercial versions. Registration is part of the process, so keep your invoice and slab information.
Frequently asked questions
Is Caesarstone a good countertop?
For a kitchen that gets daily use, yes. The quartz range is non-porous, needs no sealing, and resists stains and scratches. The two limits are heat, where resin-bound quartz needs a trivet, and repairability, where a retired design cannot be matched. If heat tolerance is the priority, the Caesarstone porcelain family is the better answer than the quartz family.
How much does a slab of Caesarstone cost?
Slab price varies by design tier, thickness and slab size, and a slab price is not the same as an installed countertop price. A jumbo quartz slab is about 57.3 sq ft of raw material before any cutting loss, and most kitchens consume one to two slabs. The installed number depends on layout, edge profile, cutouts and site conditions, which is why we measure first and quote from the measure.
What is better, granite or Caesarstone?
They fail in different places. Granite is natural, heat tolerant and needs periodic sealing, and every slab is unique, so a large kitchen can show slab-to-slab variation. Caesarstone quartz is manufactured and repeats predictably, never needs sealing, and is less tolerant of direct heat. Our quartz versus granite comparison walks through the maintenance and cost differences, the countertop material guide covers the full set of options, and granite countertop installation shows how the install differs.
What are the disadvantages of Caesarstone countertops?
Four. Direct heat can damage the resin in quartz. UV exposure makes the quartz range a poor choice for unshaded outdoor use, which is what the outdoor and porcelain lines exist for. Retired designs cannot be matched later. And the brand now spans four materials with different thicknesses and slab sizes, so a design chosen from a sample board can carry fabrication requirements the buyer did not expect.
What is the most popular Caesarstone color?
Across the designs we stock, the white marble-look group is the largest by a wide margin, and the Calacatta and Statuario names draw the most showroom interest. The concrete-look family is second. A single most-popular design is a regional answer rather than a national one, which is why we keep the full board on the floor.
Which Caesarstone colors have been discontinued?
Of the designs we stock, 16 no longer have a live page in the Caesarstone US catalog: 2003 Concrete, 4601 Frozen Terra, 5000 London Grey, 5101 Empira Black, 5111 Statuario Nuvo, 5113 Solenna, 5130 Cosmopolitan White, 5133 Symphony Grey, 5140 Dreamy Carrara, 5171 Arabetto, 5211 Noble Grey, 5310 Brillianza, 5820 Darcrest, 6270 Atlantic Salt, 7524 Golden Sky, 9141 Ice Snow. The retired-design table above links each one to its stock page.
Is Caesarstone a high end quartz?
It sits in the upper tier of engineered surfaces, alongside Cambria and Silestone, and above most private-label quartz programs. Within the brand itself there is a wide spread: a solid white and a heavily veined Calacatta are not in the same price band, so the brand name alone does not place a design at a price point.
Can Caesarstone porcelain be used for a waterfall island?
Yes, and it is a common use for it, but the 1.2 cm panel has to be mitered at the corner so the vertical and horizontal faces meet with a continuous pattern. That is a shop operation with very little tolerance for error, which is where a fabricator with CNC equipment matters more than it does on a standard 3 cm quartz top.

Digital swatches lie about scale. A vein that looks subtle in a 4 in sample can dominate a 9 ft island, and the difference between a honed and a polished version of the same white only shows under real light. We keep the Caesarstone range on the floor alongside the rest of our quartz program and full slabs in the yard, so you can see the actual piece that will be cut for your kitchen.
