Real soapstone varies in color from near-black to soft pale grey depending on quarry origin and oiling treatment. Soapstone Mist captures the lighter, oxidized character of weathered soapstone: a balanced mid-grey base with broken white veining that reads as natural stone movement. The polished finish keeps the surface non-porous while preserving the matte-like soapstone aesthetic.

Cabinet and Hardware Direction
Painted white Shaker, walnut frameless, soft cream slab, and natural rift oak all complement the soft grey. Painted darker cabinetry (charcoal, deep navy, deep green) also pairs cleanly when the lighter counter is meant to break up the dark cabinet weight. Brushed nickel, aged brass, and matte black hardware all register well.
Walk a full slab at the nearest distributor before fabrication. Soapstone-look designs vary in vein density slab to slab, and seam planning benefits from full-scale review with the fabricator before any cutting begins.
