The Keelie Gunmetal Blue Black Glaze is Kitchen Craft's deep blue-gray finish on the Keelie Shaker door, finished with a hand-applied black glaze that settles into the panel reveal and frame edges. The glaze adds depth that a single-coat paint cannot match, especially on the Shaker's flat panel field.
The black glaze is wiped on after the gunmetal-blue base coat, then partially wiped off so it stays in the recessed corners and along the inside reveal of the Shaker frame. The result is shadow detail that makes the door look almost hand-finished, with the deepest blue-black settling into the panel reveal and the frame edges. Built on MDF, the door takes the multi-step finish smoothly.
Gunmetal Blue Black Glaze on the Keelie door suits transitional and modern-traditional kitchens where the cabinetry should read intentional and dressed, especially in homes with formal living spaces or original millwork. It pairs comfortably with white or cream quartz, unlacquered brass or warm nickel hardware, and oak or walnut flooring. The glaze depth reads strongest under warmer LED in the 2700K to 3000K range.
Hand-glazed finishes are intentionally non-uniform. The glaze pattern, the depth in the corners, and the overall tone will vary slightly between doors and across runs. That variation is what makes the finish look hand-built rather than mass-produced. Order a sample door so you can see the glaze depth in person before locking in the kitchen spec.
