Keelie Cloudburst Pewter Glaze pairs a cool-leaning Cloudburst grey paint with a hand-applied pewter glaze that settles into the door's profile lines. The result is a layered grey door with cool-toned shadow definition at the rail-and-stile joints — quieter than a black-glaze pairing, more dimensional than a flat-painted finish.
Pewter glaze is a cool grey-brown applied and wiped the same way as a black glaze, but producing a softer shadow line. Where black glaze gives crisp definition, pewter glaze gives gentle depth , useful in kitchens that want layered character without the formal contrast of black-on-grey. The cool tone also pairs more naturally with the Cloudburst base than a warm mocha glaze would.
Modern transitional kitchens, contemporary remodels with cool palettes, and homes that want dimensional character without traditional formality. Cloudburst Pewter Glaze pairs beautifully against painted white perimeter cabinetry as an island, or runs as full-perimeter grey in larger kitchens. Less suited to warm-toned traditional spaces where the cool layered grey can read disconnected.
Brushed nickel, polished chrome, and matte black all register cleanly against the cool grey-and-pewter combination. Brushed brass works as a transitional accent if other elements lean warm, but it can compete with the cool tones in the slab itself. Long bar pulls and slim T-bar profiles suit the contemporary read better than ornate cup pulls.
Glazed finishes show wear at high-touch edges sooner than flat painted doors. Wipe with a damp microfiber and skip abrasives. Touch-up glaze kits from the same line can refresh corners over the years.
Order a sample door , glaze application varies, and seeing the actual technique on a real door is the only way to confirm the finish.
