The Galloway Quartz Sample is a 4-inch swatch of Cambria's Galloway design — a deep charcoal-black quartz with bold, defined white veining that runs in dramatic broken lines across the slab. Use the swatch to confirm contrast level, vein scale, and finish in your actual kitchen lighting before ordering a full slab.
Galloway is one of the bolder dark designs in the Cambria range, and bold patterns are notoriously hard to evaluate from photos. The white veins can read sharper or softer depending on bulb spectrum and surrounding cabinet tone. A physical swatch tells you exactly how the contrast plays in your specific room rather than in a showroom or product image.
Galloway's high contrast works beautifully against painted white Shaker, soft cream slab, and natural rift oak. With dark cabinetry it reads more uniform and may need a contrasting backsplash to break up the visual weight. Brushed brass and aged brass register cleanly against the deep base; matte black hardware blends into the slab and reads almost monochromatic.
Polished dark quartz shows water spots and fingerprints more readily than light or matte finishes. A daily wipe with microfiber and a drop of dish soap keeps the surface looking sharp. Skip vinegar, ammonia, and abrasive cleansers. They don't damage the quartz immediately, but they dull the polished surface over years of use.
Once the swatch confirms direction, walk a full slab at the nearest distributor before fabrication. Vein placement on bold designs determines how the layout reads, and the decisions get made before the saw starts cutting.
