The Charlestown Quartz Sample is a 4-inch swatch of Cambria's Charlestown design — a warm-grey base with broken cream-tan veining that reads like aged limestone or weathered Italian travertine. The swatch lets you confirm tone, vein character, and finish under your actual lighting before ordering a full slab.
Charlestown sits in the textural-warm end of the line. The base color is a soft mid-warm-grey with earthy undertones, and the veining flows in broken cream and tan lines that read more like natural stone weathering than crisp marble veining. The visual effect is layered, calm, and time-worn rather than crisp and contemporary.
Set Charlestown against your cabinet door at three points in the day. The warm-grey base shifts noticeably between bulb temperatures: 2700K deepens the earthy cast, 4000K cools the slab toward neutral grey. The cream-tan veining can read either as gentle texture or as defined pattern depending on lighting.
Charlestown works beautifully with painted off-white Shaker, walnut frameless, rift-cut oak, and soft cream slab. The warm undertone makes it less ideal next to icy-cool grey or stark white cabinets where the temperature mismatch reads inconsistent. For hardware, aged brass, oil-rubbed bronze, and brushed nickel all register well.
Walk a full slab at a Cambria distributor before fabrication. Travertine-look designs vary in vein density between slabs, and seam planning benefits from full-scale review with the fabricator before cutting.
