The Cambria Black quartz sample shows the brand's purest black option — a near-solid jet field with minimal pattern, designed for projects that need a true black surface rather than a charcoal with movement. The sample is the right starting point because true blacks read very differently under different light temperatures.
Cambria Black is intentionally close to a solid color. Compared to Hamilton, which carries visible particle movement, this surface aims for a near-uniform deep black field with only a fine speckle visible at close inspection. The sample helps confirm whether the black reads true under your lighting or shifts toward warm or cool gray.
Modern kitchens with white or wood cabinets, primary baths with brass or matte black plumbing, contract installs requiring a clean dark surface, and any project where a contrasting countertop is the design choice rather than a complementary one.
True black quartz shows water spots, dust, and fingerprints more visibly than mid-tone surfaces. A matte finish disguises this better than high-polish. Wipe with a microfiber and mild cleaner; avoid abrasive sponges which can leave fine scratches that catch light against the dark field.
Order a polish sample and a matte sample together if both are options , most homeowners pick the matte after seeing the polished version's fingerprint visibility under kitchen lighting.
