Tarin is Omega Cabinetry's mid-century contemporary slab door in walnut, with horizontal grain orientation that reads sleek and architectural across long cabinet runs. The walnut grain and the slab profile work together for a kitchen that lands clearly in the mid-century modern design language.
Most wood cabinetry runs grain vertically, following the natural orientation of the boards. Tarin specifies horizontal grain, which reads more like fine furniture than typical kitchen cabinetry. On walnut, that horizontal orientation also pulls the eye across the run rather than down each door, which gives the kitchen a more continuous and intentional read. The slab profile keeps the wood grain as the entire visual statement.
Tarin suits mid-century modern kitchens, contemporary remodels with intentional walnut accents, condo and loft spaces, and primary bath vanities where the wood grain becomes the design moment. It pairs comfortably with white or light quartz tops, brushed brass or matte black hardware, and white oak or limestone flooring. Edge-pull and slim bar-pull hardware both work; cup pulls and traditional knobs tend to fight the mid-century geometry.
Walnut darkens slightly over time with exposure to sunlight, especially across the first few years after install. That natural color shift is part of the wood and not a defect. Pull a sample door first and view the grain orientation in person before locking the order; horizontal-grain walnut reads strikingly different than vertical-grain walnut, and the difference matters.
