MSI Sparkling Black Quartz Slab Countertop, Engineered Stone, Polished with Metallic Flecks

$59.00

Sparkling Black is a dramatic quartz from MSI's Q Premium Natural collection — a deep black base with metallic-flake distribution that catches light in unexpected ways. The "Sparkling" name reflects the visual character: a near-pure black surface with luminous accent particles scattered across the slab.

Black with Sparkle, In Honest Read

The base sits as a deep true black with cool undertone. Across the surface, fine metallic-flake particles distribute in a uniform random pattern that catches and reflects light at varying angles. At low light the surface reads close to solid black; under direct light the metallic flecks become visible and add visual depth. The polished finish amplifies the contrast between base and accent.

Specifications

  • Base: Deep black with cool undertone.
  • Pattern: Metallic-flake accent distribution, no veining.
  • Finish: Polished, full-sheen reflective surface.
  • Material: Engineered quartz, MSI Q Premium Natural.
  • Use: Counter, splash, vanity, fireplace, accent wall.

Best Application

Dramatic transitional kitchens, formal dining-adjacent spaces, hospitality interiors (boutique bars, design-led restaurants), and homes where the counter is meant to be the room's signature dramatic element. Sparkling Black works beautifully against painted white Shaker as a strong contrast island, or as a full-height splash where the metallic flecks become a feature wall accent.

Hardware and Cabinet Direction

Brushed brass, aged brass, and unlacquered brass hardware register beautifully against the deep black with metallic accent. The brass warmth connects to the metallic flecks in the slab, reading as designed rather than accidental. Polished chrome and matte black both work as lower-contrast alternatives. For cabinets, painted white Shaker, soft cream slab, walnut frameless, and rift oak all complement the dark base.

Care Notes

Polished black quartz shows water spots and fingerprints more readily than light or matte finishes. A daily wipe with microfiber and dish soap keeps the surface looking sharp. Skip vinegar, ammonia, and abrasive cleansers, which dull the polished finish over years.

Walk a full slab at a distributor before fabrication. Metallic-flake distribution varies between slabs, and the design's visual character depends on flecking density that swatches don't fully reveal.
