Riff is Omega Cabinetry's transitional cabinet door in walnut, with a solid wood frame and mitered corners that give the door dramatic architectural shape. The construction reads more like fine furniture than typical kitchen cabinetry, suiting kitchens where the cabinetry should serve as designed casework.

Why Mitered Corners on Walnut Read Different

Standard butt-jointed doors show end-grain at every corner, which becomes visible as repeated visual interruption along a long cabinet run. Mitered corners wrap the wood around the perimeter without any visible end-grain seam, which keeps the visual emphasis on the panel field and the wood grain rather than on door construction. On walnut, where the rich grain pattern carries real visual weight, that mitered build lets the wood character flow uninterrupted across the door.

Construction Notes

  • Door: Transitional with mitered corner construction.
  • Wood: Solid walnut frame and door.
  • Style: Transitional with furniture-grade detailing.
  • Hinges: Soft-close, full-overlay, fully concealed.
  • Drawers: Soft-close on under-mount slides.

Designed For

Riff carries transitional kitchens where the cabinetry should read as designed furniture-grade casework, primary bath vanities meant to feel substantial, and homes with original wood millwork that should coordinate with the cabinetry. It pairs comfortably with marble-look quartz with warm veining, leathered granite, unlacquered brass or oil-rubbed bronze hardware, and oak or walnut flooring. The walnut grain also coordinates naturally with leather counter stools and natural fiber textiles in adjacent spaces.

Walnut and Sample Notes

Walnut darkens slightly under sunlight over the first few years after install. That natural color shift is part of the wood and gives the kitchen real character over time, but it means the cabinets will look different at year five than at install. Walnut grain also varies across boards, with sapwood reading lighter than heartwood. Pull a sample door first and ask your dealer how the specific finish ages.
