Richmond Adirondack Blue takes CNC's flat slab door and finishes it in a deep, slightly desaturated navy that reads almost slate in shadow. It's a confident color choice for an island, a banquette wall, or the lower run of a two-tone kitchen where the upper cabinets carry a lighter shade.
Slab fronts amplify color. With no rail or panel breaking up the surface, the entire door reads as one painted plane, so the depth of Adirondack Blue lands harder than it would on a Shaker. In bright daylight the finish picks up a slight green undertone; under warm lighting it pulls toward indigo. Both reads are intentional in the line.
Two-tone kitchens with white or grey upper cabinets, kitchen islands set against neutral perimeters, primary vanities in a guest bath where you want personality, and laundry rooms doubling as mudrooms. The blue holds up well against unlacquered brass and aged bronze hardware.
Saturated paint colors shift more under different lighting than any other finish, and a slab door magnifies the shift because there's no panel shadow to break it up. Order a door sample, view it against your countertop and floor at the time of day you cook, and then commit.
