Marquina Midnight is MSI's black-with-white-veining quartz, modeled on Nero Marquina marble — a historic Spanish black marble used in luxury European interiors. The engineered version brings the same dramatic black-and-white contrast to kitchens and baths without natural marble's etching and staining concerns.
The slab is a deep near-black base with fine to medium-scale white veining, sometimes branching, sometimes running in cleaner linear sweeps. The contrast is high by design . Marquina Midnight is a statement surface, not a quiet background. As an engineered quartz, it skips the acid-etching risk that has limited Nero Marquina to less-used surfaces in real installs.
Statement islands paired with lighter perimeter counters, primary bath floors and shower walls, fireplace surrounds, and butler's pantries where bold contrast is intentional. The surface also pairs well with brass and aged-bronze hardware, which catches light against the dark base.
Daily wipe with microfiber; mild soap as needed. The high-contrast pattern hides crumbs but shows water spots more obviously than mid-tones. Choose slabs in person , vein density varies, and a calmer slab vs. a busy slab gives noticeably different room results.
If the design calls for bookmatched veining across an island top and waterfall, confirm bookmatch availability with the fabricator before slab purchase.
