The Linwood Quartz Sample is a 4-inch swatch of Cambria's Linwood design — a soft white base with delicate cool-grey veining that reads bright, contemporary, and balanced. Use the swatch to confirm vein contrast, base tone, and finish character before ordering a full slab.
Linwood sits in the bright-and-fresh end of the line's white range with a barely-cool undertone. The veining flows in fine-to-medium grey lines with broken edges, low contrast against the bright base. The result is a slab that reads contemporary clean rather than classical refined: quieter than bold Calacatta-style designs but more pattern-present than the cleanest plain whites.
Set Linwood against your cabinet door at three lighting points: morning daylight, afternoon, evening interior. Cool-veined whites shift between bulb temperatures: 2700K LEDs warm the slab toward neutral; 4000K daylight sharpens the cool character. Compare beside any sample counters, splash tile, or floor materials you're considering.
Linwood pairs cleanly with painted white Shaker, painted blues and greens, charcoal cabinetry, and crisp greige slab. The cool undertone makes it less ideal next to warm cherry or honey-toned wood, where the temperature shift reads disjointed. For hardware, brushed nickel, polished chrome, and matte black all register cleanly; brass tones can compete with the cool character.
Once the swatch confirms direction, walk a full slab at a distributor before fabrication. Even on softer designs, vein placement varies slab to slab, and the layout decisions matter for seams in long runs.
