Lexington Espresso with Black Glaze is the deepest finish in the Lexington line: a dark espresso-stained Shaker door overlaid with a black accent glaze that settles into the door's profile lines, deepening the recessed shadow detail and giving the cabinet a hand-finished, age-touched character.
Glazing is applied after the base stain dries. The glaze is wiped across the door, then mostly removed from the flat surfaces, leaving glaze deposits in the recessed profile lines, the inside corners, and the rail intersections. On Espresso, that black glaze deepens what is already a dark finish, making the door read with more dimension than a plain stained door of the same color.
Traditional kitchens, French country kitchens, formal dining built-ins, and primary baths where the design wants weight and detail rather than minimalism. The dark glazed finish pairs beautifully with cream or beige tile floors, which give the eye somewhere to rest after the depth of the cabinet face.
A sample door is essential here. Glazed finishes vary slightly between production runs because the glaze is applied by hand, and the only honest way to know which character your kitchen will get is to see the actual sample. For care, dust the recessed profile lines (where the glaze sits) with a soft brush before wiping the flat surfaces; that keeps the glaze deposits intact instead of slowly polishing them away.
