Kenna - Weathered Slate

Kenna Weathered Slate pairs Kitchen Craft’s Kenna door with the Weathered Slate woodtone. Kitchen Craft describes the door as: Transitional wide rail door style available in MDF and wood species.

Weathered Slate Is a Woodtone, Not a Paint

Weathered Slate is a stain rather than an opaque paint, so the grain of the wood stays visible through the finish. Kitchen Craft offers it on maple, oak and rift oak only – it is not available on MDF or thermofoil, which is exactly why the wood species you pick changes how the colour reads.

Choosing the Wood Species

Kitchen Craft states plainly that the wood you choose determines which finishes are available, and the same stain reads differently on each species. Oak carries open grain that the weathered slate tone settles into; maple is tighter and more uniform; cherry deepens over time with light exposure. Ask us which species is specified on your quote.

Seeing It in Person

Kitchen Craft recommends viewing an actual sample from your dealer for the best colour, wood grain and finish representation. We keep samples at the Wayne showroom so you can compare species side by side before ordering.
