The Hamilton quartz sample shows Cambria's Hamilton design — a deep charcoal-to-black base with subtle gray and white movement. The sample is the simplest way to verify how the dark surface reacts to your lighting before specifying it for an island, full perimeter, or feature wall.
Hamilton is one of Cambria's deepest neutral options. The base reads as a warm-leaning charcoal under most lighting, with mineral-like gray and white particles distributed through the field rather than concentrated into bold veins. The pattern is fine-scale, which means the slab reads as a solid dark surface from across the room and reveals movement at counter height.
Modern kitchens with white or light cabinets where the dark counter anchors the room, contemporary baths designed around floating vanities, and contract-grade installs that need a forgiving surface for service-side counters. Hamilton also pairs well with brass and warm-metal hardware against white cabinets.
Dark quartz can show fingerprints and water spots more visibly than light surfaces , request a matte finish sample alongside the standard polish to compare. Slab edges on darks read more obviously, so plan the edge profile early in the order: a basic eased edge stays clean visually, and a mitered edge gives the modern slab look.
Inspect at a fabricator before committing if the install is a large perimeter run; lot-to-lot color variation on dark quartz can be more noticeable than on lighter patterns.
