Charston Quartz is a textural design from Cambria — a substantial mid-tone base with refined surface character and quiet vein movement. The design captures the visual quality of weathered quarried stone, suited to transitional kitchens that want substantial character without bold marble drama.
Charston sits in the textural-substantial range of the line, with surface character that reads grounded and earthy. The base color carries balanced depth without going industrial-cool, and the vein flow reads as natural movement rather than crisp marble pattern. Under polished light the surface lifts; under softer light the slab reads as quietly substantial.
Warm transitional kitchens with traditional palettes, classical-leaning remodels, and homes with travertine flooring, exposed wood beams, or warm-painted walls. Charston pairs especially well with painted off-white Shaker, walnut frameless, and stained cherry where the substantial earthy character anchors the room.
Charston works beautifully with painted off-white Shaker, walnut frameless, rift-cut oak, soft cream slab, and stained cherry. The substantial earthy character makes it less ideal next to icy-cool grey or stark white cabinets where the temperature mismatch reads inconsistent. Aged brass, oil-rubbed bronze, and brushed nickel hardware register cleanly.
Walk a full slab at a Cambria distributor before fabrication. Textural-character designs vary in surface variation between slabs more than uniform designs do, and the texture that gives the design its character can read differently between batches.
